Israeli expert: Abraham Accords serve as a tool to improve Azerbaijan’s image with the Trump administration

"Azerbaijan had been severely criticized by the American administration because of the last war in Azerbaijan, where 100.000 ethnic Armenians fled. It's (the Abraham Accords) a mechanism for improving Azerbaijan's image with the Trump regime," said Martin Sherman, founder of the Israel Institute for Strategic Studies, in an interview with the YouTube channel of the Israel Defense and Security Forum (IDSF), whose members include 35,000 reserve officers and operatives from Israeli security forces.

"Steve Witkoff visited Azerbaijan on his way back from Moscow to discuss the improvement of the relationship (with the US) which was endorsed both by Netanyahu and senior rabbis in the United States and in Azerbaijan. It seems to have at least formalistic sense behind it, even though there is already a substantive inclusion of Azerbaijan in the Israeli sphere," Sherman added.
