Egyptian media: U.S. and Israel view the Azerbaijani President as key regional mediator

"The political landscape in the South Caucasus has witnessed notable shifts in recent months, with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emerging as a significant regional player amid escalating tensions between his country and Iran, as well as Israel’s ongoing involvement in the region’s dynamics," writes the Egyptian news outlet Bayan Gate.

"As part of strategically significant diplomatic moves, Aliyev recently held important talks with Turkish President Erdoğan and the new Syrian President al-Sharaa — a step seen as an attempt to shape a new regional alliance. According to reports, the U.S. and Israel view Aliyev as a potential conduit for reconciling opposing sides in the region," the news outlet notes.
