Israeli expert: There are plans to invite Azerbaijan into the Abraham Accords framework

Alex Grinberg, an Israeli expert on Iran from the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies (BESA Center), has revealed that there are ongoing plans to include Azerbaijan in the Abraham Accords framework. In a video published on the YouTube channel of Israeli historian Ehud (Udi) Manor, Grinberg explained the strategic rationale behind Azerbaijan’s potential inclusion.

"There are also plans to invite Azerbaijan into the Abraham Accords framework. If that goes through, Azerbaijan has a clear interest in making it work, because it would strengthen its geopolitical standing," Grinberg stated.

"Now, you might ask — what does Azerbaijan have to do with the Abraham Accords? The point is, we need to understand that the Abraham Accords aren't just about signing papers and posing on green lawns. They're a framework for reinforcing American — and by extension, Israeli — influence in the region, including the Caucasus, and for pushing back against Iran.

That’s exactly why the Iranians are panicking — truly panicking — because they see all their regional efforts unraveling. Their influence is being countered, and they know it. In fact, Iran's reaction to this is the clearest indicator of how real and serious this development is. If you see that something scares them, that’s the pressure point you know you need to use," he emphasized.
