Oldest Jewish newspaper: The Jew will represent Muslim Azerbaijan at Eurovision

"We are an international band – the model of tolerant Azerbaijan... I’m very proud to be Jewish and to be a part of Azerbaijan and represent my country as Azerbaijani and Jewish... We are part of this country, and Azerbaijan is our motherland... No matter what your religion or nationality, everyone lives here in peace and love. Azerbaijan is one of these places where you can be Jewish," said Asaf Mishiyev, Azerbaijan’s Eurovision representative of Jewish origin, as quoted by The Jewish Chronicle, the world’s oldest Jewish newspaper based in London.
