Arab media: With U.S. backing, Azerbaijan becomes a platform for Turkey–Israel rapprochement

“The fact that the United States and Azerbaijan are close allies of Turkey and Israel reflects Washington’s interest in reducing tensions between Ankara and Tel Aviv over Syria. Just two days before the Turkish and Israeli delegations met in Azerbaijan, U.S. President Donald Trump, during a meeting with Netanyahu in the Oval Office, raised the issue of Turkey’s role in Syria after the fall of Assad,” reports the UK-based Arab news outlet Asharq Al Arabi.
