Lebanese media: Baku talks may ease tensions between Israel and Turkey

“Meetings held in Azerbaijan between Turkish and Israeli delegations could ease Israel’s aggressive stance, particularly in light of Turkey’s ambitions to expand its influence southward—beyond its traditional territories in the north. These ambitions also include efforts to assert control over Syrian airspace and to establish a buffer zone centered around the Al-Dumayr military airbase,” writes the Lebanese daily An-Nahar.

On April 10, Israeli broadcaster Kan 11 reported that a second round of negotiations between Israel and Turkey is expected to take place after the Passover holiday.
