Iran and Armenia Conduct Military Drills, Azerbaijan Hosts Israel-Turkey Talks

"Iran and Armenia held their first joint military exercises, “Peace,” near their shared border region of Nodruz on April 9 and 10... The drill was held on the same day that Israeli and Turkish delegations met in Azerbaijan to discuss military deconfliction in Syria... The PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party), having reportedly received Iranian drones to fight Turkey, has agreed to disarmament, possibly making Armenia Iran’s last leverage against Turkey and Azerbaijan," reports FDD's Long War Journal, a project of the American neoconservative think tank Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

"Tehran and Yerevan’s reported $500 million arms agreement encompassed a range of military hardware, including the transfer of drones, along with air defense systems... Yerevan has grown increasingly reliant on Tehran following its departure from Russia’s Collective Security Treaty Organization and the lack of assurances from NATO," the news outlet added.
