Turkish think tank: Azerbaijan's deepening relations with Israel disappoint Turkey

Growing Azerbaijan–Israel Ties Cause Concern in Ankara

"Turkey and Azerbaijan have always been close to each other with the understanding of ‘one nation, two states’ and have established a strong bond within the framework of brotherhood law... However, some of Azerbaijan's foreign policy decisions create a situation that contradicts Turkey's sensitivities as a brotherly state. In particular, Azerbaijan's deepening relations with Israel and its silence against the attacks in Gaza have turned into a serious disappointment for Ankara...

While Turkey defends Azerbaijan's independence and territorial integrity, this military cooperation with Israel creates a situation that is the opposite of Turkey's support for Palestine. In calculating these strategic interests, Azerbaijan ignores the values and regional interests of its brotherly country Turkey... Azerbaijan should be more careful in its foreign policy, taking into account not only national interests but also the values of the Islamic world and Turkey," according to the Ankara-based think tank STRASAM.
