As Pesach (a major Jewish holiday) approaches, Aryeh Lightstone, CEO of the Abraham Accords Peace Institute, visited the Jewish community in Baku, according to an article by the Israeli media outlet Israel National News.
Lightstone emphasized the importance of the Abraham Accords, which have already brought strategic benefits to participating nations. “The next step is to bring additional countries into this framework—including Azerbaijan,” he stated.
Rabbi Isayev, head of Baku’s Sephardic community, echoed Lightstone's call: “The Azerbaijani people see Jews and Israel as true friends. We’ve had peace and excellent relations with Israel for 30 years, but it’s time for Azerbaijan to officially become part of the Abraham Accords,” he said. “This isn’t just normalization—it’s a strategic alliance between strong countries, and Azerbaijan must be part of it.”
«Rabbi Isayev also underscored Azerbaijan’s regional significance, particularly within the U.S.–Israel–Azerbaijan triangle. “Azerbaijan is a natural partner. It already contributes to stability in the broader Middle East—and it can do even more in the future,” » the article highlights.
