"The attempt to bring Azerbaijan into the Abraham Accords, which Trump considers his achievement, is apparently aimed at improving Baku's relations with Washington. This objective could make Azerbaijan more assertive in adopting aggressive stances toward Iran," writes Ettelaat, the oldest Iranian newspaper. Citing the news website EcoIran, it adds: "According to the Israeli think tank the Begin-Sadat Center, Baku could be an ideal candidate to join this group."
In January, February, and March, the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies (BESA) published a series of papers highlighting Azerbaijan’s strategic role in Israel’s regional security framework. The reports included recommendations for the Trump administration on forming a trilateral alliance with the U.S., as well as explanations of why Azerbaijan fits perfectly within the framework of the Abraham Accords.
