While the Trump administration promotes peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Armenian lobby, along with the Democrats, continues to sow seeds of hatred

"U.S. President Donald Trump is looking forward to Azerbaijan and Armenia signing a long-awaited peace treaty, Eric Jacobs, a senior adviser of the State Bureau of Energy Resources of the U.S. Department of State, said," as reported by Reuters on April 4. A day earlier, during his visit to Baku, Eric Jacobs met with Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, where "the contributions of the Azerbaijan-U.S. energy partnership to the realization of regional and global energy security projects" were highlighted (according to Shahbazov’s post on X).
What’s notable is that, despite the Trump administration’s support for peace in the South Caucasus and its positive assessment of Azerbaijan’s role in global energy security, the Armenian lobby in the U.S., along with members of the Democratic Party, continues efforts to sustain animosity and mutual grievances between Armenians and Azerbaijanis.
According to one of the most influential Armenian lobbying organizations in the U.S., the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), an event titled “Reversing the 2023 Artsakh Genocide | Remembering the 1915-23 Armenian Genocide” was held in the U.S. Congress on April 2, with the support of Armenian lobbying groups. More than ten Democratic senators and members of Congress took part, calling “to hold Turkey and Azerbaijan accountable for their genocidal crimes against the Armenian nation.”
