Iranian media altered Houthi leader’s statements on Azerbaijan’s potential deal with Israel

“We have heard from Azerbaijan that it has signed or is about to sign a new agreement with the Israeli enemy,” stated Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of the pro-Iranian Yemeni Houthi organization Ansar Allah. In turn, one of Iran’s major pro-government news agencies, SNN, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Telegram channel rephrased al-Houthi’s words to: “We have heard that the Republic of Azerbaijan also wants to sign an agreement with Israel, but it should reconsider this, as it has humanitarian obligations.”
