Iran International highlights Iranian MP’s accusation of Azerbaijan’s role in former president’s death

“Azerbaijan’s security proximity to Israel poses another issue for Iran. Iranian officials have floated the theory that Baku was involved in the helicopter crash that killed President Ebrahim Raisi in spring 1403 (2024),” notes the opposition TV channel Iran International.

On December 13, 2024, Iranian MP Kamran Ghazanfari stated: “Raisi was assassinated as a result of cooperation between the US, Israel, and the Republic of Azerbaijan, but officials do not find it appropriate to disclose this information,” according to the conservative Iranian news agency Khabar Online.
