Hezbollah’s media mouthpiece: Azerbaijanis celebrated Karabakh victory waving Israeli flags

“Israel played a pivotal role in bolstering Azerbaijan’s defense capabilities — a fact that became especially evident during the conflict with Armenia. After the Second Karabakh War in 2020, Azerbaijanis flooded the streets of Baku on November 10, waving both Azerbaijani and Israeli flags to celebrate their victory over Armenia — a striking symbol of the deepening ties between the two nations,” according to Lebanese channel Al-Manar, the media mouthpiece of Hezbollah — Iran’s most powerful proxy force.

A policy paper by the BESA think tank, which highlights Azerbaijan’s special role as a pillar of Israel’s regional security architecture, cited the newspaper Israel Hayom, noting: “Azerbaijan is the only Muslim country in the world where, during celebrations and marches commemorating military victories, local residents display Israeli flags.”
