Israeli Energy Minister: we will continue strengthening ties with Azerbaijan

“Historic Day for Israel’s Foreign Relations and Energy Sector! Today, Israel granted gas exploration licenses in its waters to Azerbaijan’s SOCAR, alongside British Petroleum and Israel’s NewMed. Nearly two years ago, as Foreign Minister, I inaugurated Azerbaijan’s embassy in Israel—the first Shiite Muslim country to do so. Now, for the first time, SOCAR, Azerbaijan’s state-owned energy company, is investing in gas exploration outside its borders. This is a historic milestone and a tremendous vote of confidence in the State of Israel... I thank my friend, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov—together, we will continue strengthening the ties between our nations and peoples.” This was announced on March 17 by Israel’s Minister of Energy, Eli Cohen, on his official X account.
