On March 12, the Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with the Diaspora, Fuad Muradov, met with the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami. Muradov’s visit to Rabat took place against the backdrop of Azerbaijan’s possible inclusion in the Abraham Accords, which Morocco joined a year after their signing in 2021, according to the Moroccan newspaper Al Oual.
A policy paper published in February by the BESA Center, which includes recommendations to the Trump administration regarding the formation of a trilateral alliance (Azerbaijan–Israel–U.S.), states: “Israel is already advancing a trilateral partnership model for Morocco, involving American companies, and plans to extend this approach to Sunni Gulf monarchies and the U.S. in defense, AI, and cybersecurity as part of the Abraham Accords expansion. Azerbaijan’s participation in such initiatives would strengthen the Muslim component of Israel’s regional partnerships.”
