U.S. Presidential Envoy Arrives in Baku Following High-Level Visit to Moscow

On the morning of March 14, the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported that the plane carrying U.S. presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff had arrived in Baku from Moscow.

We were the first to report on the preparations for Witkoff's visit to Baku on March 7. Then, on March 11, we reported that he was "planning" to arrive in Azerbaijan immediately before his visit to Moscow. This information came from well-informed sources in Israel who are actively involved in relations with Azerbaijan. However, circumstances related to the complex negotiation process between Washington and Moscow led to changes in the initial plans, and Witkoff traveled to Baku not before his visit to the Russian capital, but immediately after it.

It is important to note that contacts between Israelis, Azerbaijanis, and Americans regarding the visit of one of Trump's most trusted and influential aides to Baku had been ongoing for several months. However, active coordination of the trip only began after March 5, when Prime Minister Netanyahu reaffirmed his commitment to the trilateral partnership between Israel, Azerbaijan, and the United States.
