Israel Hayom: the international community recognized Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan

One of Israel's leading media outlets, Israel Hayom, owned by Miriam Adelson, who is among the top five donors to Trump’s election campaign, clarified the roles of the aggressor and the victim in the Karabakh conflict: "Despite the fact that after the collapse of the USSR, the international community recognized this region as part of Azerbaijan, Armenia won the war and established the 'Republic of Artsakh'—by occupying this region and adjacent territories, which accounted for 8% of Azerbaijan’s land. In practice, this republic functioned as a puppet state, completely dependent on Yerevan."

It is also noted that the First Karabakh War resulted in the mass expulsion of Azerbaijani population from the region: "Although no country, including Armenia, officially recognized the republic’s independence, Armenia maintained de facto control over the region… through the occupation of seven Azerbaijani districts."
