Dozens of prominent rabbis asked Trump to include Azerbaijan in the Abraham Accords framework

"Dozens of prominent rabbis with extensive diplomatic backgrounds sent letters to US President Donald Trump in recent days regarding the possible inclusion of the Muslim-majority country (Azerbaijan) in the Abraham Accords framework. The group is led by Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, and Rabbi Eli Abadi, a senior rabbi in the UAE and personal friend of Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and architect of the Abraham Accords," according to Jerusalem Post.

It is noted that Rabbi Marvin Hier spoke at Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration ceremony and also served as a mediator in talks between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and King Hussein of Jordan (1952–1999).

On March 4, AIA-GN reported that the leadership of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the US and Canada, the oldest and most influential organization of ultra-Orthodox rabbis in the United States, sent a letter to President Trump with a similar request “to consider Azerbaijan in the same light as those nations that have joined the Abraham Accords.”
