Azerbaijan wants to create space for dialog between Turkey and Israel

Azerbaijan is pursuing diplomatic efforts to "create space for dialogue and cooperation between Turkey and Israel, aiming to prevent their rivalry from escalating into larger problems, thereby safeguarding its interests with both countries," according to the pro-government Iranian news agency ANA.

A policy paper by the BESA think tank, which highlights Azerbaijan’s special role as a pillar of Israel’s regional security architecture, cited the Israeli newspaper Maariv, noting: "President Aliyev, who has previously proved his mediation capabilities between Turkey and Israel, is likely to play a similar role again in the coming years (under the Trump administration)."
