Israeli MP: Azerbaijan is the only country in the Muslim world with a vibrant and active Jewish community

Speaking today in the main hall of the Knesset, Shas party member Moshiashvili stated: "Azerbaijan is the only country in the Muslim world with a vibrant and active Jewish community, numbering in the thousands, with synagogues, mikvahs, and bustling community centers. In the Jewish neighborhood (referring to the settlement of Krasnaya Sloboda in Quba, northern Azerbaijan), street names are written in Hebrew! Sephardic Rabbi Zamir Isayev is recognized by the authorities and actively works to strengthen ties between our two nations. My efforts on this issue, as well as those of the Shas faction, are often undertaken at his request and with a broader vision for the well-being of Azerbaijan’s Jewish community. In this regard, credit must be given to the authorities of this country.”
